Just like many other Golf4Fun’ers, I woke to the sounds of rain on the shutters last Sunday morning. A quick check of the radar settled me – the prognosis was good and by 10:30am the clouds might not have dissappeared but at least the heavy rain would have passed. A short one hour drive to Emmental and we arrived at the “Sekretariat” to be greeted with a warm welcome by Marianne and her team.

The 47 hopeful starters at Round 6

And so the Golf4Fun’ers arrived, on time, ready to do battle with the rolling hills of Emmental Golf Club. Originally a 9 hole course, which was converted to an 18 hole in the past few years – I can confirm they have done an excellent job even if I will admit a few scary moments on the hairpin bends in the golf cart as I whizzed around grabbing snaps of the rounds in progress.

While I kept myself busy at the first tee, Charlotte, Dawn and Robyn laid out the provisions for the hungry golfers at the halfway house between holes 8 and 9. Many thanks to all of them for their help on the day, as well as Mark for his eagle eyed review of the scorecards, Siegi for his terrific apero impressions and Daniel for all those details which just made the day so much smoother!

HelpersThe helpers enjoying a relaxing break and glass of wine by wine sponsor Fin Bec Fine Wines who again provided a great selection of wines for the wine tasting event.
