Saturday may have started wet but Sunday showed us the perfect weather for golfing – a mixture of blue skies and white fluffy cloudy with the temperatures in the mid 20s. Flights took off at a great pace from the first tee complete with a stuffed goodie bag of suntan cream from new Sponsor Cosswiss, stress ball, golf ball and chocolates from Stamford, Water and Gummi Bears from Die Mobiliar and a handful of tees from TCL. Bernie and Charlotte missed most of commotion having a short drive around the locale while looking for the 12 hole and scene of not just the mid round snack but the intensely fought longest drive battle, men’s and ladies.

First flight out and Nicole moved the Ladies marker well past the footpath which winds its way across the fairway with its mighty oak standing sentinel on the left hand side, perfectly positioned to put off even the best t-box “drivers”. Much much later, our Saturday winner Jenny got the honour to once more move it forward to its final resting place and again claim the final victory winning a 50.- CHF U-nique voucher for her efforts.

In the men’s camp it was a different matter, the tension building throughout the round. Many challenged the initial placement and fell short until Hau-kit stood to the challenge, moving it forward, we estimate, to around 220 meters. Next challenger was Alex who moved it a further 40 meters to around 260 meters where it stood firm and proud until the final flights descended on the 12 hole to take up the challenge. Tim who stunned us with a 270 meter t-off during our Piedmont trip in May managed to even outdo that – he produced a whopping 283 meter t shot, shooting him to the top of the distance kings and winning him a well earner 50.- CHF voucher from Golf Import.

Like Round 3, we had many winners on the day once more. Prize giving this time took place on the sun soaked terrace of the Drei Thermen Golf Resort with staff rushing madly to serve “golfers”, beers and wine. In the Brutto men’s category Jay managed to just outperform Alex (and Hau-kit) this time out and grab the Golf Now simulator voucher, leaving Alex to receive the 100.- CHF Golf Butler voucher for 2nd place.

For the Ladies Brutto Jenny once more shone through in 1st place and won two free tickets to the Arosa Humour Festival this coming December in the beautiful Alpine ski resort! Nicole may not have won Longest Drive, but her Brutto performance scored her a 100.- CHF voucher for Sibler for her 2nd place ranking

.

Netto 0-18 HCP category saw Hau-kit take home 2 day passes for Savognin Berg Bahn while Vita visiting us again this year from Hungary took home shares of the value 100.- CHF in Fritz Nolan A.G. Patrick Knab nabbed the lesson with Swiss and British PGA Pro Brian Murphy. In the Netto 18 – PR HCP we had 6 players all gaining 36 or more stableford points – a turn up for the books in comparison to the previous day. Was it the sunshine or the great dinner the previous evening or just the golf gods being nice for a change? Who can tell! But the scores speak for themselves: Peter Fuchs had a category topping 45 points and is now the proud owner of a new HCP 24.3 (down from 28.8)  while Rainer Bendel made good his performance from the previous day with 40 points which means his weekend scoring improved his HCP from 34.5 to 31.0.

And now for the Rabbit who not only gained a brand sparkling new HCP of 34.5 with an impressive 38 stableford points, but he also took home a great Taylormade bag for being the Rabbit with the most Netto points on the day as well as 2 day tickets to Savognin Berg Bahn for his overall netto performance compared to all the Tigers. Bea Meier bagged a 50.- CHF Golf Import voucher for her 38 stableford points along with a new HCP of 22.4 and Martin Osterwalder, who on the same round last year got his first HCP, this time out scored a perfect 37 to improve his HCP to 33.7!

Nearest to the pin winner Jürgen grabbed a 50.- CHF Golf Import voucher for his efforts and Theresa may not have gained any extra leaderboard points today for her Brutto scoring, but she did win the draw for the two bottles of Heida sparkling Wine from our official wine sponsor – Fin Bec Fine Wines in the “Fin Bec Back 9 Challenge”. Antoinette and Bernd bagged the 3 sleeves of balls in the Lucky Looser category while Roeland and Jürgen each won a 30.- CHF voucher for U-nique. Dick and Rainer won day passes with a drink for Golfpoint Urdorf while Antoinette had to have her picture taken once more for being the lucky winner of dinner for 2 at Krishnaa’s restaurant.

Food eaten and apero over, golf4fun’ers who hadn’t had enough golf headed straight back out on the golf course to enjoy the last sunshine of the day and get some more practice in for Round 5 which is only 2 short weeks away now. Among then was our King Tiger Jay who remains solidly at the top of the Tiger leaderboard. In the Rabbits camp it was a different matter – Nina is now officially our reigning queen! Congratulations to both of you and all the winners from both the Saturday Round 3 and Sunday Round 4! Congratulations finally to Peter our first Rabbit of 2013 to gain his HCP!

As always, many thanks to our Sponsors who make these events possible and the helpers who make the day work! Results are now online as well as pictures, in the usual place and you can see the full photo album by clicking on any of the photos here.
